Final Report - Improving Learning Objects (LO)

In Unit 4, Professor Morten suggested that “we compile, refine and expand our learning objects into a learning module”. This post aims to fulfill this second activity from this course of master degree Elearning Pedagogy of Universidade Aberta

I built three LO and worked with two other colleagues (Teresa Fernandes and Marco Freitas) and the first one with Marco. When we were building those LO, we had in our mind several purposes:
- To work in a cooperative and a collaborative way in the group.
- To exchange points of view on the LO, their structure, the theme, the tool chosen.
- To share the work with others – inside and outside the group.
- The tools selected allowed us to shared them in social networks.

We decided to add some comments on our LO and the group decided not to change them, but added some reflections about the LO’s development. The three posts entitled Final Report (Unit 1, Unit 2 and Unit 3) are not intended to show a personal opinion of each one, but reveal the steps that were taken in group. These videos also represent the way we worked: respecting individual flexibility, working together in order to accomplish a specific end or goal.

So, I became more and more aware – throughout the course- of transparency and visibility, to point out only two of the keywords of the Theory of Cooperative Freedom. This theory claims that “adult students often seek individual flexibility and freedom. At the same time, many need or prefer group collaboration and social unity”; so the way that was chosen to build our LO, followed the main ideas that those same LO shared. This way, it can be seen that we worked accordingly to the theory that our LO promote: with transparency; with visibly; with flexibility; with freedom and keeping up the pace through the course.

Final Report (LO of Unit1)

Following Professor Morten suggestions in Unit 4, I’m presenting two small videos explaining how we did our video on Transparency in Cooperative Learning.

This video was the first LO built, in Unit 1, and there are other posts that that focus also this activity from this course of master degree Elearning Pedagogy of Universidade Aberta. This is a way to follow Professor Morten instructions and a different way of compiling, expanding and refining “our learning objects into a learning module”.

To this first LO, some comments were added, that are not intended to show a personal point of view, but rather show the way we overcome difficulties we our simple means. To add this comments we used the "readthewords” tool.

If you need the text, either in portuguese or in english, I'll be happy to make it available, by email.
